Glover Grabs RasGas Members trophy

The 9th annual RasGas Charity weekend was held at Doha Golf recently with a Pro-Am on February 27 and a members’ tournament on February 28. The Corporate competition was hosted on March 1. There were 176 Doha Golf Club members who contested the members’ event. The format was strokeplay for Division A and stable ford for Divisions B, C, Ladies and Juniors.

Jeff Glover tore apart the difficult Doha course to win Flight A by a single shot with a gross score of 74, nett 66 which included 16 pars and 2 bogeys. Karl Bishop was second with a nett 67 with Ian Mcinerney third on nett 68.

In Flight B Jason Tunnicliffe was victorious. He scored 40 points. Chung Hoon Kim was second with 39 points and Paul Smith winning third on countback with 37 points.

Flight C had a runaway winner with new member Arbi Hussain recording a great score of 43 points. Second and Third place was much closer with two players tied on 37 points. The countback method was used to determine the places and due to a higher back 9 points total Andrew Watson placed second and Ryota Kashiwa placed third.

The ladies division was won by Anja Schmidt with 39 points, with Taddy Dance coming 38 points. The Junior division was won by Kimberley Stiegler who scored 40 points.
