By Sports Reporter/DohaErfan Ali Saeed scored 24 points in Al Sadd’s 86-80 win over Qatar Sports Club during their Qatar Cup basketball tournament at the Al Gharafa Indoor Hall yesterday.Chauncey Leslie also scored 24 points for Qatar SC but that wasn’t enough for his team to push for a win.For Qatar SC, Melquan Bolding scored 19 points, while Noel Gregory Felix added another 16 points.For the eventual winners, Alpha Bangura (15 points), Khalid Sulaiman Abdi (14 points), Solomon Bozeman (12 points) and Michael Benjamin Southall (12 points) got into double figures.In the earlier match of the day, Al Arabi beat Al Shamal 82-73. Arabi’s William Earl Byrd scored a match-best 24 points, with teammate Olatokunbo Olukayode Ayeni pitching in with 21 points. Mansour Atif Elhadary (18) and Adnad Hodzic (16) were among the scorers.Brian McKenzie was the highest scorer for Al Shamal while teammate Williams Tyvon scored 19.Tomorrow, Al Rayyan will take on Al Ahli in the early match at 5pm while Al Gharafa and Al Wakrah face off at 7pm.
