Blair shines as Al Gharafa power past hapless Khor

An outstanding performance by Thomas Blair saw Al Gharafa thrash Al Khor 96-67 in the Qatar Cup last evening at Gharafa Sports Club.

The American drained 31 points, including a whopping 21 from three-pointers, to torment a hapless Al Khor who fell behind early in the match and failed to make a match of it.Blair also scored 10 field goals off 17 attempts during his 40-minute stay on the courts and he was ably supported by Ward Spates and Osaro Adako who scored 27 and 21, respectively. Spates shot five out of nine three-point chances he got, while Adako had 10 field goals from 13 attempts.

For Al Khor Antwon hardy had 25 points and Moustapha Niang scored 20.

In the second match of the day, Al Rayyan overcame al Wakrah 83-74 with Desean Jones starring for the winners with 22 points. Yaseen Ismail and Tanguy Ngombo had 14 apiece and Boney Watson shot 10 as Al Rayyan led throughout the match.

For Al Wakrah Desean Anthony top-scored with 20, while Kenneth Wilson and Calvin Cage Jr had 17 each.

Today, Al Sadd meet Al Arabi at 5pm followed by a match between El Jaish and Al Shamal at 7.
