As part of its social responsibility towards the community and in tune with the Qatar National Sport Day vision to promote the culture of sport in the society, Qafco on the occasion of the third anniversary of Qatar National Sport Day (QNSD), stitched a busy schedule, featuring various sport activities.
The event was a huge success with Qafco employees, their families and Mesaieed residents from different age-groups actively participating in the event according to their ability and hobby.
The CEO said, “Sports brings people together. Qafco as part of its responsibility towards the society organises a number of sporting events that aim to bring people together.
“At Qafco we have always encouraged sports, The Qafco Open Tennis Championship being one such example,” he added.
Hamed al-Marwani, chief administration officer (CAO), Qafco, said the National Sport Day helps in strengthening social bonds between all company employees and their families beyond the formal work context.
“Qafco devotes special attention to sport activities and has duly allocated to its employees, modern gym facilities equipped with all necessary equipment and sport aids that suit various levels and ages.”
The National Sport Day celebrations at Qafco started early morning on February 11 at the premises of the company clubs, Al-Banush and Al-Maha. They included bowling, badminton, squash, table tennis; football, volleyball, shot put, discus throw and racing.
Participants were also given gift items and awards.
Qafco sport activities are not strictly confined to the company employees, but extend to organising matches with sport teams of neighbouring companies and with residents of Mesaieed Industrial City, regardless of their professional sectors and affiliations.
Qafco has been organising prestigious sporting tournaments that draws huge interest among amateurs and professionals. Young athletes, spectators and interested fans eagerly await and look for Qafco tournaments every now and then.
