Minister opens new HQ of building permits complex

HE the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa bun Abdulaziz al-Thani, HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada, and HE the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr Hessa Sultan al-Jaber at the ceremony to mark the inauguration of the new headquarters of the building permits complex.

The new building copes with the urban renaissance Qatar has been witnessing for the replanning of several areas in the country.

The opening ceremony was attended by HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada, Minister of Communications and Information Technology HE Dr Hessa Sultan al-Jaber, the CEO of Ooredoo company HE Sheikh Saud bin Nasser al-Thani, Chairman of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) Engineer Nasser Ali al-Mawlawi, the CEO of Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) Engineer Saad Ahmed Ibrahim al-Hassan, the board chairman of  Kahramaa Engineer Issa bin Hilal al-Kuwari and Mohamed Khalifa Turki al-Subaie, the Deputy Board Chairman of Qatar Fuel (Woqod) Company.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the opening ceremony, HE the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning said, “We are here to open the building permits complex after conducting the necessary amendments and to launch the e-building linences service”.

The new programme is considered a qualitative leap in the process of presentation and opening of files and issuance of building licences by the ministry,  the minister said noting that this will contribute to facilitating either the owners or the consultants to cut the time limit for projects of each department.

The programme will help implement the procedures and issuance of licences within three  to seven days maximum, the Minister said.
