Discussions dealt with relations between the two countries and ways of developing and strengthening them.
Talks held with Albanian FM
HE the Advisory Council Speaker Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi yesterday met the visiting Albanian Foreign Minister Ditmar Bocati and his accompanying delegation.
Talks during the meeting dealt with parliamentary relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them.
The meeting was attended by HE the Advisory Council Secretary General Fahd bin Mubarak al-Khayareen.
Speaker meets Putin’s envoy
HE the Advisory Council Speaker Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi yesterday met the Special Representative of the Russian President for Co-operation with African States and Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian Federation Council Mikhail Margelov and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting they discussed relations between the two countries and means of developing them.
The meeting was attended by HE the Advisory Council Secretary General Fahd bin Mubarak al-Khayareen and Russian Ambassador to Qatar Mohamed Kholov.
Advisory Council holds meeting
The Advisory Council yesterday held its weekly session under its Speaker HE Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi.
The Council discussed a report submitted by Internal and Foreign Affairs Committee on a draft law on combating cyber crime and decided to submit its report to the Advisory Council.
Mauritius minister tours QCCI
Mauritian Minister of Labour and Industrial Relations and Employment Shakeel Mohamed, now visiting Qatar, yesterday toured Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) and held talks with the senior officials there on co-operation between his country and the QCCI.
Talks between the two sides also tackled ways of bringing in the Mauritian workers to work in the Qatari private sector, a QCCI press release said yesterday.
QCCI board member, Engineer Nasser Ahmed al-Meer stressed that the labour force should be highly qualified and familiar with the Qatari labour laws and lifestyle in order to avoid committing any problems or irregularities.
Terror attack on Egyptian museum condemned
The chairman of the International Council of Museums - Arab Countries Alliance (ICOM-ARAB), Sheikh Hassan bin Mohamed al-Thani, yesterday denounced a terror attack on the Museum of Islamic Arts and the Egyptian National Library and Archives. He said the alliance was following the latest developments in the efforts of international organisations to refurbish the museums. He added that the alliance will be briefed by the Unesco on the result of their examination of the site. Sheikh Hassan called on Arab and international countries to participate in restoring the damaged pieces. He said the alliance will discuss the issue at its meeting, especially how the alliance can protect museums in the Arab world. Egyptian Minister of State for Antiquities Mohamed Ibrahim said 74 art works were damaged. A coin dating back to the year 77 in the Hijra calendar was lost, Ibrahim said.
