Professionals briefed on vaccination drive

More than 200 health professionals have attended the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) workshop on the ‘National campaign for the vaccination of class ten students against diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough’.Professionals working with school students  and health practitioners at public and private  vaccination centres took part in the workshop. Dr Hamad Eid al-Rumaihi, consultant and head of the communicable disease control department at SCH, said that the vaccination that would be given to students during the campaign is an activating dose within the routine vaccination process, which is part of the broad vaccination programme in Qatar.  The campaign will be held annually for Class ten students, as it gives protection against such diseases for 10 years. The campaign is scheduled for February 23-March 6 and includes all private and independent schools in the country.
