Protection for turtles, whale shark under study

The Environment Protection Department of the Ministry of Environment (MoE) is working on the study and completion of various programme, including the protection and proliferation of turtles, whale shark project (Al Shaheen oil field) and scientific research for growing coral reefs, local daily Al Sharq has reported.

The MoI operates and monitors the main meteorology stations and rain monitoring stations and made 156 visits to the meteorology stations. A new location has also been specified for the main meteorology station in Abu Samra, the report stated.

Meanwhile, the Agricultural Production and Afforestation section of the MoE has distributed 77,834 saplings of sidra, almond, salam, Arab mimosa and others for plantation, according to the report.
