HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani honouring an outstanding student during the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the Air Academy’s officer cadets yesterday. The graduation ceremony, held at Al Udeid Air Base, was attended by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, HE the Minister of State for Defence Affairs Maj Gen Hamad bin Ali al-Attiyah and senior officials and armed forces officers. The Emir reviewed a parade by the graduates after the band played the national anthem. Speaking on the occasion, Academy Commander Brigadier Salim Hamad al-Nabit said the academy was established to defend the homeland.
