The French firm Aldebaran Robotics, a world leader in humanoid robotics is presenting its NAO humanoid robots at the Doha Aspire4Sport 2012 trade show to be held from November 12 to 15.NAO humanoid robots are used for teaching and research, and are now diversifying into the events sector, according to a company note.NAO is the world’s most widely-used humanoid robot, famous for its frequent participation in the Robocup, an international soccer competition.Interactive and totally programmable, the robot measures 57 cm in height and is capable of walking, seeing, hearing and talking. NAO, which has sold more than 2,500 units in over 50 countries is used by prestigious universities, schools and laboratories in many different areas, namely engineering sciences, IT, human-machine interaction and the social sciences.NAO is continuing to prove itself in the field of special education, such as therapy for autistic children, where it is helping the young to develop the cognitive skills required for a better understanding of our world and its social complexities.Aldebaran Robotics is also today meeting the specific needs of edutainment, personal support and events. It represents a real innovation that can increase traffic by 25 to 45% for events open to the public. In 2010, at the Shanghai Expo and for the first time in history, 20 robots performed a synchronized dance in front of the French pavilion. A year later, NAO was chosen by Intel to host its stand at the Salon Gitex in Dubai.
