Bogota’s Mayor Gustavo Petro speaks to supporters from the City Hall balcony in downtown Bogota. Petro was removed from office by Colombia’s Attorney General and barred for 15 years, due to a scandal involving the city garbage collection. In addition to being removed from his post and his term, Colombia’s election authorities accepted an opponent’s petition for a referendum to be held on March 2.
