Pottery section is a good attraction for the Moroccan Week visitors.

The Moroccan handicrafts and folk shows, which have been attracting a large number of visitors, will conclude at Katara on Sunday. On show are Moroccan handicrafts, pottery, jewellery and brass works, besides performances of folk arts, music, painting dance and calligraphy. Moroccan traditional costumes, replete with meticulous and elegant designs and decorations, are particularly popular with the visitors. On display is a miniature of Al Fana Mosque Yard, considered the most celebrated mosque yard in Morocco, with its open field for performers and street artistes.Further, the decoration of the Moroccan corner itself in Katara reflects the traditional Moroccan architecture and interior design. “We are really happy at the success of the Moroccan week. It has been a popular attraction for many people from different nationalities,” said Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, general manager, Katara. “We believe that culture can guarantee bridges of communication between different people and bring them close in a civilised and easy manner. Also, while we stress our national and local identity, we are open to all world cultures,” he added.
