Qatar Foundation’s Social Development Centre (SDC) has said that its “Badr Wa Int Gadr” (“take the initiative” and “you can”) programme is featuring at the ongoing Qatar ExxonMobil Open and the Qatar Total Open for Women in February.

The Badr programme provides entrepreneurial support for individuals and families. This is the fifth consecutive year SDC has partnered with the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF). Participation in various traditional crafts and products will be promoted during the tournaments including making wooden ships, accessories and embedded boxes, traditional cuisine and henna.

Lolwa al-Naimi, head of entrepreneur development, SDC, said: “QTF has allocated free spaces for the programme’s activities to promote traditional crafts and local products. Our participation in these events comes in line with our commitment to help strengthen and diversify our economy through supporting family entrepreneurial projects.”

The Badr programme provides full support for entrepreneurial projects by individuals and families alike across Qatar, by assisting them to develop successful enterprises and offering a range of services that support productive families to ensure the continuity of their success. Some of these services include training, marketing, administrative support, motivation, encouragement and funding.
