Schools students put up an impressive show yesterday at the Wakrah Sports Club as part of Qatar National Day.
But behind the success of the show was the hard work put in by their teachers.
Teachers could be seen frantically waving their hands and mimicking the movements expected of their students.
Students from the Pakistan Education Centre, Bangladesh MHM School, Bhavan’s Public School, Bright Future Pakistani International School, DPS - Modern Indian School, The Next Generation School and others presented parades and cultural songs yesterday.
While the children sang and took all the credit from the audience for putting up the show, it was the teachers in the background who did most of the hard work and some even became poets in the process.
PEC teachers were dressed in their traditional Pakistani dresses and had prepared special songs in their local languages.
PEC physics teacher Noorul Amin appreciated the hard work put in by all staff and schoolchildren of all schools, who participated in the Qatar’s National Day. He himself had prepared songs in Pashto and Punjabi languages to mark the occasion.
We will be with you Qatar, a song prepared by the PEC students, and Bhavan Public School’s Hum Saath Hein To Kya Darna (What’s to fear if we are all together) proved to be a hit and was applauded by the crowd.
Bangladesh MHM School’s Mohamed Tafsiruddin wrote a poem in Qatar’s praise, which students from his school sang in Bangla language.
