Al-Sada to open three-day LPG trade summit today

HE the Minister of Energy and Industry, Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada will open the three-day LPG Trade Summit in Doha today. The event will highlight the growth of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) across the globe and the developmental challenges faced in the pursuit to encouraging its consumption worldwide.

The event is hosted by Qatar International Petroleum Marketing Company (Tasweeq).

Al-Sada will deliver the opening address to the summit at the St Regis Hotel in the presence of dignitaries from the energy industry. This will be followed by a plenary keynote session presented by Saad al-Kuwari, Tasweeq chief executive officer; Ian Taylor, president and CEO of the Vitol Group, and Michael F Conway, president, Shell Trading.

At the summit, participants will interact with top level delegates from across the world, including LPG producers, petrochemical producers, end-users, global trading companies and marketers, international and national oil companies, as well as charterers, shipping companies and industry experts in the global LPG trade sector.

The summit will offer interesting sessions and discussions including “World Macroeconomic & Energy Outlook 2013” by Kristine Petrosyan, senior energy analyst of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
