Lusail Car Parks project receives safety award
Qatari Diar VINCI Construction (QDVC), Lusail Real Estate Development Company (LREDC) and its sub-contractors have celebrated an “impressive milestone” of achieving 2.5mn hours without a lost-time injury (LTI) at the Lusail Car Parks project. Alexandre Ambrosini, project manager, Lusail Car Parks, received a safety award from HSSELQ director at LREDC, Waleed al-Khal Fakhroo. Ambrosini said: “We are delighted to receive this award as recognition of the importance we place on health and safety on our projects. The safety structure we have vigorously endorsed across the Lusail Car Parks project is a testament to the value we place on our workforce and the international high standards we implement.” During the ceremony the winners of a creative competition to find slogans related to health, safety and environment (HSE) were announced. The purpose of the competition was to engage the workforce to think creatively about HSE with the slogans being representative of the project’s motto. Fakhroo said: “We at Lusail Real Estate Development Company take health and safety very seriously. So are very happy to be able to acknowledge the outstanding work achieved on this comprehensive project without having a serious injury in 2.5mn hours.” The Lusail Car Parks project consists of some four car parks in the Marina District of the new city, which will accommodate 250,000 people and around 400,000 visitors a day. The car parks are the first infrastructure completed in this new town.Each car park has three levels that are 250m long and can accommodate some 560 vehicles each.
