Sports-loving public in Qatar have never had it so good. Aspire Zone Foundation has expanded its range of sports facilities available to the public with the opening of new football fields, basketball and volleyball courts.

The facilities, which are free for the community to use, include 12 mini football fields, six basketball courts and one volleyball court, which have been installed in different parts of Aspire Zone by Aspire Logistics, a member organisation of Aspire Zone Foundation.

Aspire Logistics director general Abdulaziz al-Mahmoud said the new facilities would provide the community with “a great opportunity to enjoy a healthy lifestyle while playing sport with their friends and families”.

“Aspire Zone recognises that many people in the community want to be active and play sports,” said al-Mahmoud.

“These new fields are another step toward providing even more facilities for the community. During Eid we saw many visitors coming to the park to enjoy the activities we offered and we are sure the new facilities we are providing will be very popular,” he added.

Currently Aspire Logistics is building a BMX track and Skate Park as part of its plans to expand its sporting facilities .

The new mini football fields at Aspire Park are for families only while the basketball and volleyball courts at the Khalifa Stadium Car Park are open for the entire community.

Those wishing to use the new facilities can access them between 4pm-8pm Sunday to Thursday and 8am-11pm on Friday and Saturday.

“Aspire Zone Foundation is committed to promoting healthy and active lifestyles for everyone in Qatar and believes the new facilities will make a positive contribution to that mission,” al-Mahmoud said.
