Emir, Father Emir attend Eid prayers

Hundreds of thousands of faithful attended the Eid al-Adha prayers held across Qatar in mosques and prayer grounds yesterday morning.HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, performed Eid al-Adha prayer at Al Wajbah prayer ground, Qatar News Agency reported. HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani, a number of Sheikhs, ministers and citizens also joined the prayer. Dr Sheikh Thaqil Sayer Ash-Shammari , the judge at the Court of Cassation and member of the Supreme Judicial Council led the worshippers and delivered the Eid al-Adha sermon.He urged the Muslim worshippers to be pious, righteous and contemplate the sublime meanings of such a gracious holy occasion which involves revival of the Sunna of sacrifice and its advantages and abide by tolerance, love and ties of kinship which Allah the Almighty and Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessing Be Upon Him) have called for.       Sheikh Shammari also called upon the worshippers to utilise such blessed days to pray more, connect with relatives, strictly adhere to the rulings of Islamic religion and follow the Sunna of Prophet Muhammad (PBBUH), and called as well for sincerity for the homeland represented in hard work and love among its citizens.    After the prayer, HH the Emir and HH the Father Emir received well wishers at Al Wajba Palace. HH the Emir received their Excellencies Sheikhs, Ministers, Advisory Council Speaker, Deputy Speaker, the undersecretaries, members of the Shura Council, citizens, heads of the diplomatic corps accredited in Qatar, Armed Forces and Police officers as well as directors of departments and national institutions. All the well-wishers conveyed to HH the Emir their heartfelt greetings and congratulations on the blessed occasion of Eid al-Adha asking Allah the Almighty for blessing the beloved people and the Arab and Muslim nation.HH the Emir also received children of the Qatar Orphan Foundation (Dhreima).
