By Ayman Adly/Staff ReporterHyatt Plaza is set to host Royal Circus from Tuesday with daily shows that will be staged in the events tent.Royal Circus, jointly organised with Global Entertainments Group, will feature shows and acts by world-famous performers from countries such as the United Kingdom, Russia, Spain, Italy, Ecuador, Uzbekistan, Mongolia and Brazil. Besides, a variety of animals, including white lions, tigers, leopards, snakes, Dalmatians and more, are expected to mesmerise circus lovers.“Royal Circus is our contribution towards the nation’s efforts in creating world-class events. Our vision is to set a new benchmark in the entertainment industry of Qatar,” said Feroz Moideen, general manager of Jungle Zone theme park and Hyatt Plaza. “Dr Hussein Akef, a pioneer and an expert circus performer, will lead Royal Circus at Hyatt Plaza.”Dr Akef has performed across the world, including Europe, the United States, Hong Kong and Singapore. He is also part of the only circus troupe to have enthralled Africa over a period of 10 years.“We are confident that our shows and performances will be a unique offering for the people in Qatar,” said Dr Akef, adding that the circus business has been run by his family since the late 19th century and it was the first circus troupe that came to Doha in 1986 with its distinguished performance.He also promised that the Royal Circus would cater to the rising demand for outdoor entertainment in Qatar, especially for families and children.“We believe that this will be the first Qatari-managed private event of this magnitude in our country,” said Mohamed al-Shorouqi of Global Entertainments Group, expressing delight at the support he has received from various government organisations.The circus tent is designed and built by experts from Spain and conforms to the highest local and international safety standards. It has also been approved by Civil Defence and inspected by a third-party international safety firm. The venue will have the necessary safety and support systems in place, including an on-call doctor.The troupe will perform three shows during the Eid holidays (4pm, 6.30pm and 9pm). After the holidays, there will be two shows during the weekend (6.30pm and 9pm) and one show on weekdays (5.30pm).
