The body of an Indian expatriate who was found dead in his accommodation in Mansoura was flown home yesterday. The deceased, Sasidharan Pillai (52, pictured), a native of Thazhava in Kerala’s Kollam district, was working for a firm selling surgical and other medical equipment, sources said. The decomposed body was found after some of his neighbours noticed a foul smell coming from Pillai’s room last Thursday. It was found at least five days after the death took place. Pillai was staying alone in his accommodation. The delay in repatriation of the body occurred as the police locked the room, which had among other things the passport of the deceased, said a humanitarian worker. Pillai came to Doha a little more than a year ago and he had earlier served in a company in Oman. He leaves behind his wife and two children. His brother had come from Oman to accompany the body home.
