Elderly Nepalese man Bote Rai, 106, steps down from a Yeti Airlines aircraft after flying for the first time during his arrival at the Kathmandu airport yesterday. Airline officials said they sponsored Rai’s flight after reading his wish to fly on an aircraft, in a local Nepali newspaper. Rai, who has hearing problem and lives with his 75-year-old niece, who accompanied him, in remote Dhankuta district in eastern Nepal, will spend a day in Kathmandu and visit the Pahsupatinath Temple before flying out to Biratnagar, the nearest airport from his home, airline officials said.
