Ooredoo launches charity auctions of special numbers
Ooredoo has launched a series of charity auctions of special numbers in line with the spirit of giving during the Holy Month of Ramadan. As part of its Alrabaa (friends) campaign during Ramadan, which seeks to fill hearts with joy and help those in need, Ooredoo will donate to charity the proceeds from the three online auctions.Customers can bid for their favourite number from a new range of special numbers on the Ooredoo website, www.ooredoo.qa/en/etr. Special numbers are those that start with the same number, have many of the same numbers or have parallel digits. The first auction for four special numbers starts today (Friday) and will run until July 21. The second auction for four additional numbers will be held from July 22 to 24. Any numbers that are not purchased will be offered again during a third auction, which will be conducted from July 25 to 27.On the Ooredoo website, customers with a valid Qatar ID can bid for numbers marked “Auction Only”. Ooredoo customers can bid for more than one number in the auction if they have multiple phones or have missed out on their preferred number. When the auction is finished, Ooredoo will contact the winning bidder by mobile, SMS and e-mail. The winner will then have two days to complete the purchase either at the Ooredoo shop at Lagoona Mall or through the Ooredoo eShop at www.ooredoo.qa/eshop.Ooredoo is expecting strong demand for these special number auctions, based on the success of previous such initiatives and as customers join in the spirit of giving back to the community. For more information on Ooredoo’s Alrabaa campaign and how to donate items directly to charity through Sharing Spheres, customers can visit the Ramadan page on the Ooredoo website at www.ooredoo.qa/en/Ramadan and join the social media conversation using the #alrabaa hashtag.
