Students spend day with ExxonMobil employees
University students spent time with ExxonMobil employees in various functions yesterday as part of Injaz Qatar’s job shadowing programme. |
“Giving students a real-world experience is such an important part of their education,” said Machaille al-Naimi, legal adviser with ExxonMobil Qatar. “Injaz’s job shadowing programme does just that and is a great way to introduce different fields and potential careers to young people who are making important decisions about their future.”
Hanadi al-Kuwari, a soon-to-be senior at Georgetown University in Qatar and a student of international politics, spent the day with Machaille, learning how the legal team supports ExxonMobil’s businesses in Qatar and what it is like to work in the company.
“I found the work environment really diverse and flexible,” said Hanadi. “Everyone has such unique skills, but they all come together and share their expertise with each other. The environment is really important and I was so impressed by how motivated and interested the employees were in their work. They are always learning something new, which makes the job that much more interesting.”
In support of the increased participation of Qatari nationals in the workforce, ExxonMobil Qatar promotes organisations such as Injaz Qatar and offers scholarships, internships and summer programmes geared towards giving students the knowledge and tools they need to make an impact.
