New ministries will ‘create thousands of jobs’

The creation  of five new ministries by HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani will pave the way for a large number of job opportunities for Qataris, local Arabic daily Arrayah has said.

It will also promote the strategy of Qatarisation of positions in the public sector, they have said.

The daily reported a large number of citizens as saying that the restructuring of a number of ministries and other bodies, which is aimed at limiting duplication of functions, merger and creation of new administrative units in addition to improved budget planning, will support the administrative apparatus by employing qualified Qatari staff in public positions. They added that the restructuring will also allow for employment of new graduates in many sectors, which are suitable for their specialisations.

The citizens said the creation of the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Youth & Sports, Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Ministry of Development Planning & Statistics and Ministry of Administrative Development will promote the process of holistic development in the country.

A citizen said the trend to promote economic development and activate the role of various institutions will support the continuation and execution of existing and new projects and this, in turn, will provide thousands of jobs to citizens in the public and private sectors. He added that the new ministries need to employ a large number of staff specialised in various fields in order to successfully perform their duties.

The new ministries should not only employ young graduates, but also experienced Qatari citizens, he further said.

Another citizen pointed out that the newly-created ministries will endeavor to make radical changes in the fields of economy and internal and external investments. The new departments will develop all utilities, including  transportation and other services, and activate the role of youth and sports in the State of Qatar.

He added that the creation of ministries such as transport, communications & information technology will help many Qatari youth find jobs in their fields of interest.
