Kahramaa has made the necessary preparations to match the increased demand for electricity throughout the holy month of Ramadan, officials said.According to a company spokesperson, technical teams have been working to prepare stations to deal with any unexpected rise in electricity loads during the month, while call centres will remain manned to receive any customer emergencies or complaints.“The Electricity Networks Affairs (ENA) department has completed preparations of technical maintenance, periodical and technical equipment necessary for the networks’ transmission and distribution of electricity, as well as feeding stations and mobile diesel generators to ensure the availability of reserve electricity for the month of Ramadan,” the spokesperson said.The Water Network Affaris (WNA) department has made similar preparations, and Kahramaa has launched a number of new pumping stations and storage areas to increase water reserves and cater to all customers in case of an emergency or unexpected surge in demand.The WNA has increased the capacity of desalination plants and will also be providing round the clock assistance, he explained.The spokesperson added that residents should ensure that they have enough water to last for 48 hours in their water tanks, and added that Kahramaa is ready to receive any enquiries via its call centre (991), its Facebook page or its Twitter site.
