The Criminal Court, headed by Judge Mamoon Abdulaziz, has acquitted a company manager accused of stealing aluminium and steel materials from his sponsor’s firm, local daily Al-Sharq has reported.

The accused was referred for trial by the Public Prosecution seeking punishment under Articles 1 and 344 of the Penal Law, the report said.

According to the report, the sponsor said the accused was working for him and that a secretary of the manager had seen him taking aluminium and steel materials from a company workshop. When the secretary asked him about the goods, the manager said he would pay for them, it was claimed. Another witness, too, said the manager had taken away the materials. The defendant, however, denied the allegations.

In its order, the court said it carefully studied the case and decided to acquit the manager. It also clarified that in case of any doubt in a particular matter, the defendant is acquitted under the law, the report said.
