Vodafone launches SMS-based contest

Vodafone has launched an SMS-based competition, World of Prizes, giving its customers the chance to win daily prizes.

By answering SMS questions from a preferred category (sports, history etc), customers will receive points that automatically enter them into a daily draw for an iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S4.

At the end of each week, the customer with the highest number of accumulated points stands to win a Toyota Fortuner. On August 31 - at the end of the competition - all participating customers with any number of points are automatically entered into the grand prize draw for the chance to win QR100,000.

Customers can opt for free by texting “WORLD” to short code 97773. After that, the price per SMS will be QR4 and the charges will apply from the questions category selection.

The competition is available in six languages - Arabic, English, Malayalam, Urdu, Hindi and Nepalese.

“We’re very excited to launch this competition, which is fun to take part in and gives customers the opportunity to win daily valuable prizes. What’s more, customers can choose content in the language of their choice, making it easier for them to participate in the competition,” said Cindy Moussa, director of marketing, Vodafone Qatar.
