CGC, India’s HCL announce strategic partnership

Qatar-based Consolidated Gulf Company (CGC), a leading technology and engineering solutions and service provider, and HCL Infosystems, India’s premier hardware, services and ICT systems integration and distribution firm, have announced a strategic partnership to make available HCL laptops, desktops and tablets in the country. As part of the strategic tie-up, CGC would be HCL Infosystems’ authorised distributor for Qatar and will cater to corporate, project and retail business needs. CGC will also provide after-sales support for the HCL products through its service centres. Anil Mahajan, CGC chief operating officer and Harsh Chitale, HCL Infosystems CEO signed the agreement in Doha recently. Shivkumar Gopal, CEO, HCL Infosystems, MEA; and Abhishek Kumar, business manager (consumer electronics) CGC, were also present on the occasion. Mahajan said: “Our partnership will complement the growing needs of the diversified customer profiles. There is a good demand for quality laptops, desktops and tablets for cost conscious customers in the region. And HCL products with the latest technology are geared to fulfil such gaps in local market. We intend to tap the growing market needs by leveraging our common strengths, including a countrywide distribution network, well connected sales team and innovative HCL products.”Chitale said: “We are delighted to partner CGC to make our computing products available to different businesses in the region.
