QA to boost flights to Cairo from July 1

Qatar Airways is set to increase frequency on Cairo-Doha route to triple daily flights beginning July 1 ahead of the busy summer travel season.The Doha-based carrier is adding five flights to its current 16 services a week, taking frequency up to three flights each day.Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar al-Baker said: “For the second time this year, we have increased capacity between Cairo and Doha due to overwhelming demand demonstrating the resurgence in tourism, as well as business travel to and from the Egyptian capital.“In the space of just three months, Qatar Airways has increased frequency on the route by 24%, soon operating three daily flights each morning, afternoon and evening, and with better connectivity to an array of destinations including Beijing, Bangkok, Dubai, Manila, Hong Kong, Singapore, Colombo and cities across the GCC region.“Come July 1, our passengers to and from Cairo will be able to enjoy enhanced flight frequency as well as our unmatched five-star hospitality onboard our aircraft.”Qatar Airways has been flying to Cairo since 1994, the airline’s initial year of operations and the route has proved highly popular both as a leisure and business destination. The airline will be operating a mix of narrow-body Airbus A320s, wide-body Airbus A330s and its flagship Boeing 777 aircraft on flights to and from Cairo. The operating aircraft follow a two-class seat configuration offering seats both in first and economy class.
