ALI INTERNATIONAL EXTEND VOLIQ CUP REIGN

Players and officials of Ali International celebrate after winning the VoliQ Cup volleyball tournament at the Rayyan stadium on Friday. The defending champions scored a thrilling five-set victory over Indian Cultural and Arts Society (Incas Qatar) in the final (25-19, 18-25, 21-25, 25-21, 15-12). Pribhakaran of Ali International was adjudged the ‘Most Valuable Player’ of the tournament, while his teammate Naveen Jacob Raja and Ukkara Pandian were named ‘Best Attacker’ and ‘Best Setter’ respectively. The ‘Best Blocker’ award went to Incas’ Navjeet Singh, while Mandeep Singh, also of Incas, was named ‘Best Allrounder’. Shravan Yadav of KMCC was adjudged the ‘Best Libero’.
