Total E&P Qatar wins first place in video contest
Total E&P Qatar’s diversity video, “Our differences make the difference”, has won the Jury Prize for the best video in Total’s international video contest. The video contest was launched for all of Total’s affiliates worldwide as part of the company’s Global Diversity Day’s celebrations, held under the theme “Diversity, a journey for everyone”. Total E&P Qatar’s video involved all employees of the affiliate, showcasing the richness of the cultures of Qatar, India, Algeria, Belgium, Indonesia, Lebanon, Scotland, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Philippines, Syria, Russia, Mexico, Jordan, United States of America, South Sudan and France. It also depicted the diversity and attractions present in Qatar. The one-minute video was produced by Wafaa al-Saffar, a graduate of Qatar Foundation, currently working in the communication and institutional relations department of Total E&P Qatar. Stephane Michel, managing director of Total E&P Qatar, said: “Diversity is a challenge because you have to create unity and a sense of belonging around a common goal with so many different cultures. But it is at the same time a unique chance to enrich our vision and enlarge our point-of-view and ways of doing things. Our 2013 diversity celebrations created a positive atmosphere for all employees and we are very happy to have won the best prize from the jury for our diversity video, produced by our colleague Wafaa.”
