London: British number one Andy Murray will take on defending champion Marin Cilic in the ATP Aegon Championships at Queen’s Club in London today.

Both the finalists survived scares from their respective opponents, with Murray losing the first set and Cilic his second.

Murray overcame a spirited Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, while Cilic downed former world number one Lleyton Hewitt of Australia 6-4 4-6 6-2.

Earlier, rain played havoc with the schedule at Queen’s Club yesterday as Hewitt’s clash with Cilic was moved from the main show-court in a bid to get both semi-finals finished on time.

Hewitt was due to face Croatian fifth seed Cilic in the first of the day’s semi-finals, but heavy rain fell just before the scheduled 1215GMT start at the pre-Wimbledon warm-up event.

The rain eventually relented for long enough to allow the Australian and his opponent to begin the tie at 1425GMT. But they played just two games before more rain forced another two-hour stoppage.

By the time the clouds cleared, organisers decided to switch Hewitt’s tie to Court One in a move that allowed Murray to start his semi against Tsonga in front of a full house on the main court, while also hopefully keeping the tournament schedule on track.
