Qatar keen to back Arab water strategy
Qatar is keen on supporting Arab efforts to tackle water challenges, HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada said on the sidelines of the fifth Arab Water Ministerial Council meeting in Cairo, which yesterday approved an executive structure of the water security strategy in the Arab region. Dr al-Sada pointed to the significance of the strategy at a time when Arab countries face water challenges that require unity and exchange of expertise. In an interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), the minister said the meeting reviewed the experiences of Libya, Algeria and Saudi Arabia in desalination, adding that Qatar will present its own experience in the next session of the Arab Water Ministerial Council. Konkani show on June 14
Renowned Konkani stage artiste Francis de Tuem will present his first musical show Guneav Konnacho in Qatar on June 14 at the Al Ghazal Club. Francis has staged 63 shows in Goa and Europe along with his troupe of 18 professional artistes. “Francis and his team will be flying into Qatar from Goa to keep Goan music, culture, heritage and language alive among the Konkani speaking community in Qatar,” a spokesman for the organisers said. One of the attractions of the show is 13-yearold Cameron, a gifted singer who has mesmerised audiences around the world. He is a talented actor as well. The cast includes Olga, Chitra, Anita, Sandra, Baba Cameron, Anil, Xavier Gomes, Marcus Vaz, Lawry Travasso, Menino Mario, Menino Rebello, Sham, Max Cabral, Sandeep, and Francis de Tuem. Music will be provided by Agust de Panchwadi & Norman Cardozo along with Xavier de Moira (Paklo). Gates open at 3:30pm with the show scheduled to start at 4pm . Photography and video filming will not be allowed in the hall. Fantasy Enterprise in association with Media Plus is organising the show .
