Qtel Group has launched a new campaign to attract senior-level Qataris to its growing team with the Doha-based telecom major targeting some 50 placements by 2012-end. With operations in 17 countries and more than 84mn customers, Qtel Group has kicked off a new campaign to attract senior-level Qatari nationals with a “demonstrated track record of achievement, a strong commitment to Qatari values, and a willingness to ‘make a difference’ in the lives” of its customers. Qtel Group said it believes the world’s best performing companies are leaders in talent development and management, and Qatari nationals should be at the heart of that effort. As one of Qatar’s largest, leading companies with an increasingly global profile, Qtel Group is confident that careers at the company provide one of the most attractive options for Qatari executives who want to fully realise their professional ambitions.Qtel Group chief human resource officer Mohanna Nasser al-Nuaimi said “the challenge to find the best in Qatar has become quite difficult, as many Qatari companies continue to expand internationally, raising the requirement for a comparatively-limited number of seasoned professionals.”Al-Nuaimi said, “The global telecoms sectors is a challenging and dynamic industry, offering incredible scope for career development and the chance to make a real difference across communities. “Qtel Group understands that senior-level recruitment can be challenging when you only want the best. We have launched a new campaign to attract top talent with a genuine interest in taking Qatar’s brand of management, our values, and customer engagement models into markets around the world. We want potential employees to understand that Qtel Group offers the opportunity to enjoy international exposure and an incredible learning environment to grow and develop.“The vast majority of positions being filled until the year-end would be Doha-based, although international placements are also required and are highly sought after, particularly by new applicants.”Qtel Group is targeting 50 senior-level placements by the end of 2012; however, entry and mid-level applicants are also encouraged to seek positions. The company also has a range of options for Qataris seeking employment, whether just starting out in a career or seeking new challenges and international experience. Qtel Group is also committed to developing women across its business. The group offers development programme for graduates, customised for each employee and typically lasting 12 to 18 months, depending on the role and needs of the individual. The programme emphasises work-based experience and relevant training courses to help new recruits perform their duties. Qtel Group also offers employees exposure to its overseas operating companies through various projects, encouraging collaboration and new learning opportunities and providing Qataris with valuable international experience across its broad portfolio of brands, which includes Qtel, Indosat, Asiacell, Wataniya, Nawras, Nedjma and Tunisiana.
