48 complete CNA-Q Banking Certificate programme

Forty-eight students were feted at the Banking Certificate Graduation Ceremony at the College of the North Atlantic – Qatar (CNA-Q). Of these graduates, 36 completed the Retail Banking Operations Certificate Programme sponsored by the Ministry of Labour. They represented eight sub-sponsoring Qatari banks: Ahli Bank, al khaliji, Doha Bank, HSBC, International Bank of Qatar, Masraf Al Rayan, Qatar International Islamic Bank and Qatar Islamic Bank. The remaining 12 graduates completed the Commercialbank Banking Associates Universal Agent Programme.The certificates were presented to the graduates on behalf of CNA-Q by president Dr Ken MacLeod, vice president of academics Norris Eaton, and School of Business Studies dean Gail Gosse.The programmes were developed and delivered by the Centre for Banking and Financial Studies at CNA-Q. The Retail Banking Operations Certificate Programme came about when the Ministry of Labour expressed a need to help high school students make the transition from high school to the banking industry. The Commercialbank programme was customised for the needs of Commercialbank’s workforce.Hamad Salem al-Shekili, unit head of Qatarisation at Commercialbank, extended special thanks to the staff of the Centre for Banking and Financial Studies at CNA-Q. The graduating class was represented by valedictorians Heerangul Bux (Qatar International Islamic Bank) and Noof al-Hajri (Masraf Al Rayan).
