The demand for large cans of bottled water (5 gallons and above) in summer is much higher than the quantities usually supplied by manufacturers in the local market. In the weekends many retail groceries across the country, especially those outside Doha city limits, ran out of stocks. The shopkeepers say there has been a rise in demand of more than 150% compared to what it had been before the onset of summer.
