Shahid Amin Sheikh
(pictured) has recently been appointed as the new general manager of United Bank Limited (UBL) Qatar. Prior to joining UBL, Sheikh who has vast experience in the international banking, was group regional head of Corporate Banking Group - Dubai and Northern Emirates at the Abu Dhabi-based First Gulf Bank.Speaking about his vision for UBL Qatar, Sheikh said: “We are already working with the local and business community members and we plan to strengthen our relationship with our clients in the near future.”He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Karachi.Sheikh started his professional career with BCCI in 1980 and since then has held many senior positions in BCC Emirates, Union National Bank, Standard Chartered Bank besides First Gulf Bank.
