By Sports Reporter/DohaWhen the lights come up and the show begins, spare a thought for the man behind the fireworks. This weekend’s Heir Apparent Cup Final promises to be spectacular. Hours of planning and creating has gone into the event to ensure fans of the Qatar Stars League are treated to an incredible experience. The main event takes place on the pitch. But before and after there are monumental plans to make sure the Al Sadd-Lekhwiya final is one that people never forget. In charge of getting it right is Hassan al-Kuwari, Head of Events and Hospitality for QSL. Not all the details will be revealed before Saturday, because Kuwari wants to keep some aspects of the Heir Apparent Cup final a secret. But in an exclusive interview with www.qsl.com.qa he explained what fans can expect this weekend. He said: “The preparations for this game started early, before both legs of the semi-finals. The events for the final will begin on Thursday and continue right through until the final on Saturday. “There are various programmes involving the traffic department to raise awareness and educate the children on road safety. “We will have entertainment from the popular singer Hala al-Turk who will sing songs for the children who come to the game. We are providing all services needed by the public at this event, including places of prayer and toilets for both men and women.“In addition there will be designated areas for people with special needs. We are catering for everyone. There will be a special Harley Davidson exhibition at the Fan Zone, which will involve up to 40 bikes. Plus we will have a second exhibition of Classic Cars, some of the oldest in Doha.“This sort of thing has become very popular with young Qataris recently so it’s something of interest to give them. This is a huge festival of heritage and we want to celebrate it. “And the events will not just come before the game. At half-time there will be another performance from Hala al-Turk, as well as a special skill show from young footballers.”With demand for the cup final so high, al-Kuwari knows not everyone will be lucky enough to make the game. That’s why he has set up special fans zones outside Al Sadd Stadium to ensure everyone gets to see the match. He added: “We recognise the final match will attract a lot of fans and they may not find a place inside the stadium. So we have to prepare large screen displays so all the fans can watch the game.“As part of the special prize draw we also have six cars and 50 other prizes to win. All you have to do is buy a ticket for the match and come along to the stadium“As we know, Al Sadd and Lekhwiya are champions and runners-up in the Qatar Stars League, for both teams to have also reached the final, this confirms that these two teams are currently the top teams in Qatar. No matter what happens this will be a great game. Al Sadd want to add to their league title and Lekhwiya want to make up for losing it. This will be a special match.”
