Temporary closure of Corniche Road lane

As part of its development plans for the Corniche Street, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) will this evening temporarily close one lane of each side of the street near the port entrance towards the Museum of Islamic Art roundabout.

The closure is due to plans to install traffic lights at the Corniche – Al Meena streets intersection to reduce traffic congestion in the area.

Another lane will be closed on Al Meena Street leaving Al Rufaa intersection and heading to the Corniche.

Also, on the street exiting the port, one lane will be closed.

A dedicated lane will be allocated to serve the trucks entry to port and leaving the port towards the Corniche Street through Sharq interchange instead of using the Museum of Islamic Arts roundabout.

Upon completion, the project will also ease the traffic flow coming from Al Rufaa intersection towards the Corniche and direct entry to the MIA Park.
