Maersk Oil’s recruitment film wins AVA Digital awards

Maersk Oil Qatar recruitment film ‘Maersk Oil Qatar - Workplace of Choice’ has picked up its second international prize, winning a gold award in the video production and recruitment category of the AVA Digital Awards, which is a celebration of the audio-visual arts.The award recognises the role that evolving digital media is playing in the transfer of information. Based out of the US, the awards are an international competition that recognises outstanding work by creative professionals involved in the concept, direction, design and production of media that is part of the evolution of digital communications.The Maersk Oil film, produced by Qatar-based company Resolution Productions for use in Qatar Career Fair 2012, tells the story of a number of Qatari nationals and outlines their experience working at Maersk Oil Qatar.“We are extremely pleased to receive another award for our recruitment film,” Sheikh Faisal al-Thani, deputy managing director, Maersk Oil Qatar, said, adding that the award came at a very timely moment, as the company is participating in the ongoing Qatar Career Fair with the aim to attract more skilled Qataris to join the organisation.Paul Taylor, head, communications, Maersk Oil Qatar, paid tribute to the creativity of the Resolution Productions team saying: “Resolution succeeded in capturing the essence and spirit of the ‘Workplace of Choice’ to create an engaging, compelling and informative film. It was very well received last year, so much so that we will be using it on our stand again at this year’s Career Fair.”The 2013 AVA Digital Awards attracted some 2,000 entries and are sponsored and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP).
