Al-Athba claims double trap gold, Aisha steals the show

Masoud Hamad al-Athba won the double trap gold in the HH The Emir Shooting Championships after an absorbing contest with Abdulbaset Mohsin at the Qatar shooting and Archery Federation yesterday.

Al-Athba won the keenly contest final by a mere one point (26-25). He had earlier qualified for the semis after finishing the qualifying round with a score of 120. In the semis, al-Athba finished at the top with a score of 26. The third place was bagged by Hamad al-Marri, who beat Rashid Hamad al-Athba by a point in the bronze medal match.

The 10m Air Rifle men’s final was won by Rashid Ali al-Muhannadi. The silver was bagged by Vitaliy Dovgun while Sabri Ali Mohammed clinched bronze.

In the 10m Air Rifle women’s final, Aisha Yousef al-Suwaidi claimed gold brushing aside the challenge from second placed Bahya Mansur al-Hamad. The bronze went to Moriam Hassan Mohammed.
