Bank workshop mulls challenges in finance

Standard Chartered Bank recently held a client workshop to discuss the latest trends, solutions and challenges companies and financial institutions are facing in managing their working capital whilst leveraging technology. The event in Doha was attended by senior finance, treasury and technology representatives of the Bank’s client base representing a mix of top corporates and non-bank financial institutions.“With the emergence of the Asia-Middle East and Asia-Africa trade corridors, and the economic pressures on global and regional trade, clients are seeking to improve and adapt their operating models for efficient and effective management of their working capital,” said Standard Chartered Transaction Banking Qatar head and director Salman Sharif. “As an international bank, we are continuously investing in our platforms and human resources to provide our clients with integrated working capital solutions that fit their needs.” Industry experts from the bank discussed latest trends, challenges and opportunities in the field of open account trade finance, cash management, payments, collections and account receivables among others. Group discussions were also held about security controls and data confidentiality, working capital and treasury management, balancing risk and challenges in change implementation.
