Qatar Project Management (QPM) recently opened a new office in Riyadh in one of the most recent expansion initiatives of the company in the Middle East. The new office in the Saudi capital was inaugurated in a ceremony attended by QPM Chairman Ahmad Abdulla al-Abdulla, Chief Executive Officer Fahad Rashid al-Kaabi, directors from the board and a number of associates from the company’s management team. The Riyadh office, located in Olya district, will be the company’s first presence in the country. The new office has become necessary due to the number of current projects ‘in the pipeline’ in Saudi Arabia in which QPM is taking an active interest. Further, the new facility forms part of QPM’s overall strategy for 2013 to look closely at the neighbouring market and the opportunities represented therein. Speaking on the occasion, al-Kaabi commented: “With QPM’s ability to provide a single window across multiple channels, the new presence comes in response to Saudi Arabia’s construction sector growth under the guidance and patronage of King Abdullah.” He also said that opening an office in Riyadh was a strategic opportunity as Saudi Arabia is considered to be the region’s top economy. “A highly competitive business environment and national initiatives in energy, transportation, education, healthcare and other vital economic sectors will help us to reinforce our position as a global player,” he added. QPM stands as one of the region’s foremost project management companies, and uses its internationally trained team, and cutting-edge technologies, to set new standards within the industry. The company is active domestically and throughout the Mena region. In Qatar, QPM is managing the projects of QP District, Barwa City Phase 1, Al Duhail Camp and has recently completed project management of Barwa Commercial Avenue in the south of Doha. These projects include civil infrastructure, hospitality, luxury, commercial, office, and tourism developments.
