Vodafone has announced a permanent reduction in its local calling rate to Dhs25 per minute to call any mobile or fixed line in Qatar. The new rate is available to all new and existing prepaid and postpaid customers including Business customers. “The new local calling rate is the lowest in the history of Qatar, making it another reason for customers to bring their mobile numbers to Vodafone,” said Mohamed al-Yami, director of external affairs, Vodafone Qatar.   The new Dhs25 local calling rate represents a reduction of nearly 50% on the previous prepaid rate of Dhs49. “Since Vodafone arrived in Qatar three years ago, it has provided customers with amazing value, and allowed customers to call family and friends locally and internationally without having to worry about the costs,” the official pointed out. The new local calling rate is another example of the great value customers can expect from Vodafone, al-Yami stated while adding that now, over 1mn customers enjoy this and much more on the Vodafone network every day. On Vodafone’s network, customers can take advantage of their nationwide coverage as well as ultra-fast Internet speeds, the official said. As winners of Best Customer Service awards three years in a row, and Best Call Centre Awards in the Middle East twice in the last three years, Vodafone’s retail advisers will help customers in their own language. “Also with Vodafone, customers always get more, like Dhs75 per minute, per SMS or per MB when roaming in 23 countries with Vodafone Passport, unlimited Vodafone minutes, the best international rates and much more,” al-Yami added. In order to avail the new local calling rate, prepaid customers should dial *200*225# from their Vodafone mobile to activate and a charge of QR2 will be deducted from their credit monthly. Postpaid and Business customers automatically receive Dhs25 as their new standard local calling rate when they consume all the included minutes in their Plans.
