Foreign tourists listen to guide Davinder Singh Chawla before they start the ‘Amritsar Heritage Walk’, in the northern city yesterday. The ‘Amritsar Heritage Walk’ was introduced by the Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board in September 2011, in an effort to make people aware of the city’s heritage sites. Visitors are taken through a guided tour of the old city, criss-crossing narrow lanes and roads. The walk covers important religious, historic, architectural and traditional cuisine spots. The fee for the walk is Rs25 for Indian citizens and Rs75 for foreigners.
