Conference of religious leaders

Buddhist, Christian and Muslim religious heads arrive amid drumming to attend a conference of religious leaders at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo. Reports yesterday stated that the government sponsored conference was held to discuss means to allay fears among certain minority communities. The conference is an attempt to prevent religious or communal clashes like in the past from being repeated in the island.
