The Supreme Education Council will today celebrate the Education Excellence Day.

The event is being held under the patronage of HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, who is also the President of SEC.

The event, to be held at the Qatar National Conference Centre (QNCC) headquarters, will honour top students of the secondary schools, university graduates and students holding PhDs , distinguished teachers and outstanding schools including those which have achieved the best results in the overall education assessment in addition to student winners of scientific excellence research awards.

The winners of scientific excellence will be given Platinum and Gold medals and certificates of excellence in addition to cash prizes.

Sheikhs, ministers, senior state figures and educational leaders and academics, school administrators, teachers and parents, students and representatives of the local media will attend the event.

The annual event is aimed at contributing to the promotion of innovation and boost the culture of scientific excellence in the Qatari society, especially in the middle education and deepen concepts through the adoption of international standards of excellence and the implementation of specific programmes, in preparation for the integration of efforts of individual and institutional order to improve output of the education process in Qatar.

The celebration also aims to estimate academically the distinguished citizens of the state and encourage all individuals and educational institutions to improve their performance and strengthen the positive trends towards knowledge and outstanding scientific research and spreading the spirit of creativity among them.

The event exemplifies the commitment of Qatar’s leadership to education and the development of a knowledge-based society.
