Centerpoint defeated Gulf Lights by 10 wickets in the final of the four-team cricket tournament hosted by the Doha chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) at New Ideal Indian School grounds recently. Besides the finalists, Doha Bank and Ernst & Young were the other teams.The principal sponsors of the tournament were Centerpoint, ExxonMobil, Doha Bank, Ernst & Young, Gulf Lights, Deloitte & Touche, Blue Salon and Doha Liwa.The trophies to the teams were given away by Air-India manager Jagmit Singh and Doha Bank’s senior manager (Group Finance) Sanjay Jain.ICAI Doha chapter chairman Venkat Rama Murthy thanked the teams, sponsors and members of his organisation and their families for making the tournament a “big success” despite adverse weather conditions.Brief scores: Gulf Lights 115 all out (Jaishankar 14 n.o., Krishna Kumar 16, Sheji Valiyakath 3-12, Lokanathan 3-8) lost to Centerpoint 120 for no loss (Kamlesh 24, Deepu 19, Anand Vyas 14).
