Al Shaqab continue to dominate with four wins

Qatar’s horses proved their class yet again as they swept to six victories including four for Al Shaqab on the first day of the Straight Egyptian Show as part of the 22nd Qatar International Arabian Horse Show at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club premises yesterday.

The sequence of victories started with the Class 1 category and culminated with Class 6.

Al Nasser Stud, Qatar’s Basmata Al Nasser edged out Sheikh Abdulla bin Khalid al-Thani owned Hoyam Al Waab to win the Class 1 Fillies (1 Year) category.

Nagla Al Waab was third making it top-three finishes for Qatar.

Basmata Al Nasser’s success for Qatar was continued as five other Qatari horses triumphed.

In the Class 2 Fillies (2 years), Khalifa Abdulla Ali al-Attiya owned Authentic Maisha impressed the judges to garner 91 points. The second-placed horse Amaal Al Waab had 90.5 points. Ithar was third. It was a clean sweep of this section as all three horses were from Qatar.

Al Shaqab’s Maymoona Al Shaqab won the Class 3 Fillies (3 years) category. Maymoona Al Shaqab collected 92 points. Maisa Al Nasser and Dhreima Al Shaqab were second and third respectively.

Al Shaqab made it two in a row with Bariq Al Shaqab in the Class 4 Colts (1 Year). The winner had 91 points.

Al Shaqab’s victory march continued with two more wins in the Class 5 and 6. A total of four champions were from Al Shaqab, making it a Super Sunday for them.

Lebinon Al Shaqab (90.50 points) took the top honours in the Class 5 Colts (2 Years). In the Class 6 Colts (3 Years), Maymoon Al Shaqab (90.50 points) triumphed.
