The Friendship Cup match was played between RasGas and Qatar Foundation Cricket Club.

Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development organised a friendly T20 cricket match between RasGas and Qatar Foundation Cricket Club (QFCC) on the occasion of National Sport Day. The Friendship Cup, an annual event held under the auspices of Qatar Foundation’s Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) Directorate, was played at the newly-opened QFCC cricket ground. RasGas won the match by 23 runs. Electing to bat first after winning the toss, RasGas put up a score of 139 for 7 in 20 overs. Opener Satish Patel put up a solid display and was ably supported by Mohamed Ishfaque and Mohamed Khalid. For Qatar Foundation, Saket Chaudhary bagged two wickets, while HSSE executive director Abdulla al-Modhaki bowled well to claim the wicket of Khalid. Chasing a target of 140, Qatar Foundation slumped to 37 for 4 before Musthak Ahammed Harid steadied the innings with a patient knock of 33. A man-of-the-match performance by Chaudhary, who scored 34 off just 18 balls, gave the home side hope. But Qatar Foundation ultimately fell short, reaching 116 at the end of 20 overs. Adnan Sheikh and Shiras Aliyar took two wickets each for the victorious RasGas team.   Al-Modhaki congratulated the visiting team for winning this year’s Friendship Cup. He and Abid Bohra of RasGas presented the medals and trophies.
